A dreamlike oil painting that blends elements of the ocean and cosmos. It features a mother humpback whale and her calf in a celestial tapestry of deep blues, turquoise and purple, reminiscent of both the night sky and the ocean depths, sprinkled with tiny star-like lights. The multiple coloured glazes in the painting mean that it looks different under varying lighting conditions, sometimes darker, sometimes glowing, sometimes more blue or more teal. Unique to this piece, the constellation Cetus is woven into the pattern of reflected stars. In this harmonious fusion of marine and celestial motifs, I hope to invite the viewer to contemplate the mystery and majesty of nature and the universe.

The picture has been painted using high quality oil paints on a hand-stretched triple primed canvas. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas and it comes with appropriate fixings ready to hang straight onto your wall.
A coat of Gamvar varnish has been applied to protect the painted surface from dust and UV light. The work is signed on the front and a catalogued certificate of authenticity is attached to the back. The painting will be carefully packaged and sent fully insured via a tracked courier.
